“I’ve made a career out of meshing design and real estate, providing a unique experience for the client.”
As a native Georgian, I grew up in Cumming, Georgia. After my high school graduation, I moved 40 miles south to Atlanta, where I’ve lived for more than 20 years. A few years after I moved to the city I was working full-time but trying to determine where I wanted to go in a career. At night I found myself watching hours of HGTV and flipping through design magazines, so I thought I would try my hand at design school. One semester in and I was absolutely hooked.
I discovered that helping people envision a space and then making that space into a reality was exciting to me. For the next 17 years I worked at local design firms, until a couple of years ago when I ventured out and opened up my own company. At the same time that I was starting the business, I bought a condo through Pam [Ahern] and she encouraged me to get my real estate license with the idea that we could partner on projects.
That partnership quickly came to fruition when Pam brought me in as the lead designer on a 45-unit townhome project, where I met with every buyer and helped them finalize the look of their new home. This job, along with some conversations with Pam changed my trajectory…where I have interlaced my design talent with the real estate world and joined a team of dedicated experts changing the real estate experience for their clients.
Today, I continue to work in the new construction realm, lending my talents to their large projects, but at the same time I work with investors, helping them find the right property, then consulting on the design, starting from the raw space through to the finished product, and then finally representing my client as the seller’s agent. Additionally, I work with the RPM Group Home Advisor’s sellers, giving them a full design consultation before putting their house on the market.
In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, being with my friends, spending time outdoors, playing softball, and keeping up with the ever-changing trends in colors, material, and product.
I can genuinely say that I have the best of both worlds in my career and love transforming a client’s space into a place they can truly enjoy.
